Hey guys! Just wanted to send out the minutes for everyone's records and review everyone's goals for next meeting. Once again, if you were at the meeting feel free to skip reading the minutes and just look at your goals for next week. We have a lot going on, which is awesome. I'm really proud of all you guys and your hard work!! - Academic Calendar Update: Emily and Karen met with the Registrar last week. They will be representing the student body on the Academic Calendar Committee, which will be meeting on March 17th. Sounds like a lot of our concerns with finals week, etc. will be handled. Also we'll be inquiring about days off for Fall Break and when Spring Break is going to fall. - Downloadable Lectures Update: Paola and Karen met with Christopher Stewart, John Dorr from IR, and Brad Katz from IIT Online to discuss making lectures downloadable via the new IR. We got lots of info, and our task to them is two-fold: to survey the students on in what formats we would like lectures downloadable (slides/video footage/etc.) and also what information we would like available on the IR. Paola and Nishitha will be coming up with a way to survey students on these two items. - Foreign Language Proposal Update: Ray and Karen met with Dean Betts from the College of Science and Letters last week. He is very open to the idea and would like us to send him a proposal of our vision. Sarah will be doing the write-up for this. - Course Evaluations: The Provost has okayed the publishing of course evaluations, now its just a matter of notifying faculty and actually doing it. Ray will be working on this. - Galvin Library Update: I e-mailed Patty about the status. She is having a meeting with the Provost, etc. next week and will have more to share then. - IPRO 2.0: Tom Jacobius would like student feedback. We will be organizing two focus groups (one of SGA members and one of outside members) to accomplish this. Sarah Waha and Hadas will be presenting to each group and looking for their feedback and suggestions. Please fill out the doodle about this. - NEW ISSUES: Jenny is going to be looking into the online computer program access that Purdue has to see if it is doable for our school. GOALS FOR NEXT MEETING: Karen: Stay in contact with Pattie about Galvin; Academic Calendar Meeting on March 17th; Follow-up with Ray about course evaluations; organize the two focus groups for IPRO 2.0 Sarah: Foreign Language proposal for next week Paola and Nishitha: Survey students about downloadable lecture project Emily: Academic Calendar meeting March 17th Jenny: Look into feasibility of online computer program access Ray: Followup with Provost about Course Evaluations Keep up the good work guys!
